At Tisch Environmental, giving back to our community is a core part of who we are. This year, we invited our employees to participate in a survey to choose the charities closest to their hearts, and the top five organizations selected are the recipients of our 2025 giving program. To amplify the impact, Tisch Environmental is proud to match up to $2,500 in raised funds, which will be evenly distributed among each of the five charities. By supporting causes that our team cares deeply about, we hope to make a meaningful difference in the Cincinnati community and beyond.

Madi’s House

Madi’s House is a free, non‑residential community center in Cincinnati offering support, companionship, and hope to young adults recovering from addiction or managing mental‑health issues.

  • Mission & Purpose: Their mission is to create “a vibrant place of engagement,” giving young adults a welcoming, safe space to socialize, heal, and build community after formal treatment.

  • What They Do for the Community: Madi’s House provides a daytime destination where sober young adults can relax, connect, and take part in activities that nurture body, mind, and spirit — including art classes, wellness sessions, support groups, and more.

  • Why It Matters: Many young people navigating recovery or mental‑health challenges lack a stable, judgment-free social outlet. Madi’s House helps fill that gap — offering a sense of belonging and community that is often critical to sustaining long-term recovery.

Joseph House

Joseph House is a dedicated treatment and support center in Greater Cincinnati serving veterans who struggle with addiction, homelessness, trauma, and other complex challenges.

  • Mission & Purpose: Their mission is to offer a safe “landing zone” for veterans as they heal — supporting their reintegration into civilian life with dignity and stability.

  • What They Do for the Community: Joseph House provides a comprehensive continuum of care including residential treatment, outpatient and intensive outpatient services, transitional housing, aftercare, and support programs for families. Their new facility includes accessible housing (including for physically disabled veterans), private rooms to support those with trauma or PTSD, and gender-inclusive services (for both male and female veterans).

  • Why It Matters: Many veterans return home bearing visible and invisible wounds — from addiction to PTSD or physical disability. Joseph House addresses these intertwined issues head-on, offering evidence-based treatment and supportive housing that aim to reduce relapse and homelessness while restoring hope and stability.

The Dragonfly Foundation

Dragonfly Foundation is a Cincinnati-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and families facing pediatric cancer.

  • Mission & Purpose: Their mission centers on bringing strength, comfort, and joy to young cancer patients and their families — focusing not just on medical treatment but on overall emotional, logistical, and community support.
  • What They Do for the Community: Dragonfly works with local hospitals (notably Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center) to deliver practical and emotional aid: from hospital “care bags” (with personal‑care items, resources, and encouragement), to programs supporting patients through treatment (like “I Am Still Me®” for coping with physical changes), to community-building events, family outings, and holiday/fun events. They are also renovating a historic home (“The Landing”) near the hospital to provide a warm, nurturing environment where “Dragonfly families” can find respite, reduce isolation, and connect with others on similar journeys.

  • Why It Matters: A pediatric cancer diagnosis affects the whole family — emotionally, financially, and socially. Dragonfly’s holistic approach helps ease those burdens, offering not just temporary relief but long-term community, dignity, and support during one of the toughest challenges a family can face.

PAWS of Dearborn County

PAWS of Dearborn County Humane Center is a community-focused organization dedicated to caring for lost, abandoned, and unwanted animals in the region.

  • Mission & Purpose: Their mission is to save animal lives, end animal suffering and homelessness, and eliminate cruelty and violence toward animals — recognizing that this is a community responsibility.

  • What They Do for the Community: PAWS provides shelter, medical care, and adoption services for cats and dogs in need. They also support the community with pet-related services like lost-and-found assistance, dog tag registration, fostering opportunities, and education on responsible pet ownership.

  • Why It Matters: By giving homeless animals a safe haven and connecting them with loving families, PAWS strengthens the bond between humans and animals and fosters a more compassionate community for all living beings.

Bethany House Services

Bethany House Services works to end family homelessness in Greater Cincinnati by offering prevention, shelter, and support to families in crisis.

  • Mission & Purpose: Their goal is to empower homeless or at-risk families — especially those with children — to achieve housing stability and long-term self-sufficiency.

  • What They Do for the Community: Bethany House offers a full continuum of housing services and support: homelessness prevention resources, emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing, and wraparound support services including case management, life skills, and, in many cases, support tailored for single-parent families (a majority of their clients). Their programs focus not just on providing a roof over families’ heads, but also on equipping them to rebuild stability — especially for children and single moms.

  • Why It Matters: Homelessness and housing instability affect thousands of families — especially families with children and single parents. By offering not just shelter but long-term support and tools for independence, Bethany House plays a critical role in breaking the cycle of homelessness and giving children and parents a stable foundation for the future.
